Yeti:
Giant of the 20th Century
Made as a desperate attempt to cash in on
the Dino De Laurentiis1976 remake of King
Kong (which in itself was a desperate attempt
at a cash in), this absurd Italian film
replaces Kong with a giant Yeti, played
by a guy in a furry suit with dark circles
under his eyes. The Yeti is found frozen
and brought back to Toronto (?!) via a helicopter
towing him in what looks like a giant telephone
booth. From there, he escapes (big surprise),
falls in love with a teenage girl, befriends
a dog and a deaf mute, and wreaks havoc
all over the city. He even kills a guy by
breaking his neck in-between his giant Yeti
toes! And in the end, well, why ruin that
for you….
A must see for any Yeti aficionado worth
his salt!
